Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Lead who will both lead and actively participate in software development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in .NET, SQL Server, Cognos, and Angular. You will be responsible for guiding and mentoring the team, establishing best practices, and directly contributing to coding and solution delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, translate requirements into technical solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software.

1. Hands-On Technical Leadership
1. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
2. Balance leadership responsibilities with active, day-to-day involvement in software design, coding, and troubleshooting.
3. Set the technical direction for projects and ensure alignment with business objectives.
2. Active Development
1. Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core/MVC, Web API), SQL Server, Angular, and Cognos.
2. Take ownership of user stories and deliver features alongside your team members.
3. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and participate in all stages of the SDLC.
3. Requirements Analysis
1. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand, clarify, and document business and technical requirements.
2. Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and solution designs.
4. Code Quality and Best Practices
1. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and coach team members on coding standards and best practices.
2. Champion maintainable architecture, robust design patterns, and efficient coding practices within the team.
5. Database & Reporting
1. Design and optimize SQL Server databases, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
2. Develop, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos.
6. Agile Delivery
1. Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
2. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project milestones and features.
7. Troubleshooting & Support
1. Diagnose and resolve technical issues in applications, databases, and reports.
2. Provide support for production systems and ensure timely resolution of incidents.

Skill Sets:

Required

• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET Core/MVC, Web API)
• Advanced proficiency in SQL Server (database design, optimization, complex queries)
• Experience developing with Angular (v8+ preferred)
• Strong experience with IBM Cognos (report authoring, dashboards)
• Proven track record as a Technical Lead or Senior Developer with leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of software design principles, OOP, and coding best practices
• Excellent code review skills and experience mentoring team members
• Solid experience with source control (Git/TFS), CI/CD, and agile development methodologies
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's or master s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
• Familiarity with DevOps and automated deployment practices
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments in public sector environment
