We are hiring for a Quantum Measurement Engineer. This position offers an opportunity to have a meaningful influence on a revolutionary technology. The research effort includes a diversestaff of theoreticaland experimental physicists, hardware designers and software engineers around the world . We are seeking an experimental condensed matter physicist, applied physicist, materials scientist, or electrical engineer with a background in qubit measurements to part icipate in the research and development of our qubits .

Responsibilities:

A successful candidate:

• Uses suggested measurement techniques to advance quantum practices and device
• Contributes to deve lopment and improvement of methods of measuring devices to gauge device characteristics and properties
• Collaborates across teams for efficient use of company expertise , including hardware, software, and algorithms.
• Documents work and makes results available internally and externally to the team to more easily leverage work across teams.
• Partners with others to measure characteristics and properties.
• Applies understanding of instrumentation involved (e.g., measurement techniques, wiring and filtering strategies for low temperature application).

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physics , Engineering, or related field.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Physics , Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2 + years' experience with experimenting with low-dimensional semiconductors, superconductivity, or quantum information processing devices.
• 2 + years' experience with data acquisitionand programming in a high-level language ( e.g. python, matlab ).
• 2 + years' experience with radio-frequency ( RF ) reflectometry or circuit quantum electrodynamics ( cQED ) measurements or pulsed measurements.

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field
  • OR Master's Degree in Physics , Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Physics , Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 4 + years' experience (PhD included) with experimenting with low-dimensional semiconductors, superconductivity, or quantum information processing devices.
• 4 + years' (PhD included) experience with data acquisitionand programming in a high-level language ( e.g. python, matlab ).
• 4 + years' experience with RF reflectometry or cQED measurements and/or pulsed measurements.
• Experience with the physics of Majorana zero modes.

Quantum Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
