RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is looking for multiple SOC Analysts for a contract opportunity with an organization in the Overland Park, KS area. The successful candidate will demonstrate a disciplined initiative in protecting the company's confidential data systems, conducting meticulous risk assessments, deployment of security tools, and managing vulnerabilities through continuous monitoring. This incident response based professional role contributes to fostering a culture of open and honest communication, continuous learning, mutual respect, and trust.
Responsibilities:
* SOC Analyst will perform daily security monitoring and analyze alerts from security tools to identify possible intrusions and troubleshoot potential security incidents
* Assist in providing documentation and reporting of comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments in areas of concern, assist in tracking corrective actions, and help promote the safety of our information systems
* Respond to security incidents, assist in providing thorough post-event analyses, and participate in the development of procedures to prevent future incidents
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technology, latest threats, vulnerabilities, mitigation, industry best practices, and regulations
* As a SOC Analyst, you will collaborate with IT and other business units to enhance our security posture
* Expected to work in a team environment alongside senior staff and management
REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience or certifications
* Solid understanding of security principles, common attack vectors, and security technologies
* Understanding of how to identify, assess, and mitigate risks to protect the organization's information assets
* Familiarity with various cybersecurity frameworks and standards
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to effectively investigate security incidents and identify root causes
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Proficiency in various technical areas including networking, system administration, operating systems, virtual machines, network security control, and scripting/coding
* Adaptability: The field of cybersecurity is constantly evolving; Professionals must be able to adapt to new technologies, threats, and methodologies
* Ability to effectively communicate with management, customers, and team members; This includes presenting complex security concepts in an understandable manner
* Ability to work in a team environment, sharing knowledge and learning from others
* Ability to think logically and analytically to solve complex cybersecurity problems
* Ability to spot abnormalities and potential risks in large amounts of data or complex systems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
