BGS Derivative Aircraft Programs Chief Engineer

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a candidate to fill the position of BGS Derivative Aircraft Programs Chief Engineer (M-level), supporting the BGS USN Programs/MRO business portfolio - primarily consisting of Domestic & International P-8, C-40, and E-6B platforms. This is a high visibility, fast paced, challenging assignment with direct customer interface.
This position will be responsible for the overall safety, technical integrity, and engineering execution excellence of all Domestic & International Derivative Aircraft Sustainment Engineering & Logistics Products & Services within Boeing Global Services. The position reports to the BGS USN Programs/MRO Director within Government Engineering Operations.
The selected candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, diverse work environment. The candidate must be able to lead cross-functional teams including representatives from Modification Engineering, Retrofit, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Contracts, Field Operations, Quality, DCMA/SPO, and Program Management. The candidate must have a strong technical background, business acumen, and be able to work at senior levels of the business. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

- Ensure aircraft safety and integrity for all BGS Derivative Aircraft sustainment and support products
- Serve as the USN Programs/MRO Senior Technical Leader for Derivative Aircraft Sustainment
- Technical oversight across BGS Derivative Aircraft portfolio, including BGS Engineering & Logistics capabilities and the Derivative Aircraft SEIT for Modernization, Modification, & Retrofit programs
- Chair the Engineering Review Board (ERB), independent reviews, technical risk and opportunity management reviews, program technical reviews, proposal engineering commitment reviews, and Mission Assurance Reviews
- Lead program-level technical issue resolution activity, including root cause corrective action
- Management oversight / Coordination of Engineering efforts across BDS, BR&T, and BGS in support of Derivative Aircraft contracts
- Technical oversight of Derivative Aircraft IRAD / IAD projects
- Technical RAA for Derivative Aircraft Advisory Memo / Boeing Quality Escapements
- Program Technical point-of-contact for BGS regulatory engineering issues and DCMA/DCAA
- Develop strategies aligned to the development of technology and investment roadmaps to support Derivative Aircraft business growth
- Use engineering metrics to report first time quality, monitor throughput of engineering deliverables, and validate cost reduction initiatives and process improvements
- Serve as the Program Senior Technical interface to the Customer
- The Chief Engineer will lead a team of senior engineer direct reports
- The Derivative Aircraft SEIT & Integration managers will also report to this position
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Experience working with comparable commercial derivative, vertical lift, or fighter aircraft platforms
- 10+ years of experience working with various engineering disciplines such as structure, electrical, mechanical, and avionics systems
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- 10+ years of experience in a managerial role
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally (engineering, program management, modification team, and/or finance) and across multiple business units (BDS, BGS, BAO, etc.)
- Experience interfacing directly with senior military officials and executives
