Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support LAN/WLAN/WAN networks.
- Provide consulting for network security, including ACLs, firewall policy, proxy policy, and mail gateway management (Palo Alto NGFW, Cisco Ironports).
- Support and maintain Unified Communications (UC) environments (POTS, PRI, SIP Trunks).
- Design and maintain Storage Area Networks (SANs).
- Implement and support Cisco Collaboration stack (UCM, UCCX, Unity Connection).
- Design network resiliency strategies (Disaster Recovery, High Availability).
- Provide general server IP consulting.
- Participate in department meetings, forums, and seminars to provide technical expertise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective IT solutions.
- Prepare and submit weekly status reports and monthly project timesheets.
- Support work on flexible schedules, including after-hours or holidays if needed.
Required Experience:
- More than 5 years of experience working in Public-sector IT (Local, State, or Federal Government).
- More than 5 years of experience in:
- LAN/WLAN/WAN design, implementation, and support.
- Content Switches (Kemp, F5).
- Storage Area Networks (SANs).
- Network security (ACLs, firewall, proxy, mail gateway).
- Voice technologies (POTS, PRI, SIP Trunks).
- Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience implementing and supporting Cisco Collaboration stack.
- Familiarity with application design and scripting.
