Job Details

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Security Engineer for a 6 month contract role with our client in Minneapolis, MN. This role 100% remote.

Summary:
Seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of cloud-based applications and infrastructure within the Cloud Migration Project. This role will partner with Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and Full Stack Engineers (FSEs) in solution PODs to provide security governance, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory standards. The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for conducting security assessments, evaluating identity and access controls, and supporting the Security review process. This role requires strong collaboration with application teams, infrastructure teams, and corporate security stakeholders..

Responsibilities:
Conduct security assessments and threat modeling for cloud-hosted applications
Analyze and validate identity and access management (IAM) policies
Support Security survey responses and artifact collection Ensure compliance with corporate security standards and regulatory requirements
Assist as needed with monitoring/responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities
Collaborate with PODs to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
Provide guidance on encryption, key management, and secure data storage
Coach and mentor teams on secure coding and cloud security best practices

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or cloud security roles
2+ years of experience with Azure security services (e.g., Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Key Vault)
Experience with identity and access management (IAM), RBAC, and conditional access
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools
Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.)
Understanding of healthcare regulations and impact on Cloud Security (e.g., HIPPA, HITRUST, FEDRAMP, etc.)
Strong understanding of network security, encryption, and secure application design

Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as AZ-500, CISSP, GCLD, CCSP, or other related certifications strongly desired
Experience with security scanning/monitoring tools (e.g., Tanium, Splunk)
Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong problem-solving skills
Healthcare industry experience

Required skills:
2+ years of experience with cloud migration

Compensation:
Hourly W2 pay rate $66.00 to $74.00/Hr.
