Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 12+ month contract
Compennsation: $58.00 - 64.00/hr

Key job responsibilities:


We're looking for a hands-on RF Systems Engineer with a background in RF engineering, systems testing, and embedded hardware/software integration. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lab environment, enjoys problem-solving in real time, and is excited about working on production systems that support active satellite missions.


Other responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining lab infrastructure. You will be hands on, making sure lab devices are available for testing, while scaling team's processes to ensure long term success. You will work hand in hand with development teams from software and hardware as well as program management and other stakeholders to make sure we can verify that the software meets the systems specifications.

As part of our systems integration team, you will play a key role in operating and maintaining production systems that directly support satellite operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Integrating embedded software into hardware systems, including antennas and RF test equipment.

* Measuring and analyzing RF signals to ensure test readiness and system health.

* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration and performance.

* Working hands-on in the lab to set up, maintain, and operate test systems and RF hardware.

* Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity especially as it relates to rapid test iteration

* Drive adoption of best practices in testbed maintainability

Secondary responsibilities include supporting day-to-day operations of the production systems on an on-call rotation basis:

* Monitoring real-time satellite telemetry and supporting ground operations.

* Debugging system-level issues and identifying anomalies in satellite data.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to active space systems and gain visibility into how software and hardware interact at the system level.

Must Have Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable industry experience.

* Hands-on RF engineering experience, particularly in a lab setting.

* Experience integrating embedded software with hardware platforms.

* Experience with embedded systems and consumer devices

* Exposure to space operations or ground operations systems.

* Background in systems engineering and hardware/software testing.

* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in real-time or production environments.

* Ability to interpret telemetry and RF signal data to assess system performance.

* Familiarity with antennas and RF test hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior experience in satellite or spacecraft programs

* Understanding of high-level spacecraft design or satellite subsystems.

* Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash or Python) for basic troubleshooting.

* Experience recognizing anomalies in operational data and responding to system faults.

* General knowledge of space mission operations or testbed environments.
