Network Systems Engineer
Onsite position with occasional remote work, based in Boston, MA

This role involves analyzing needs, designing solutions, and ensuring seamless network operations to support academic, research, and administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze networking needs and recommend solutions.
• Design, implement, maintain, and support LAN/WAN infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure network security and reliability.
• Provide technical expertise for network engineering and maintenance.
• Manage tickets, document work, and follow up with clients.
• Support off-hours as needed for project deadlines and issue resolution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills for articulating technical issues and producing documentation.
• Cisco certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in Higher Education or large campcorporate networks preferred.
• Expertise in IP network technologies, including routing protocols, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Proficiency with Cisco, Fortigate, Extreme Networks, and Aruba wireless equipment.
• Knowledge of IPV6, cloud networking, and VoIP desirable.
• Familiarity with programming/scripting is highly desirable.
• On-premise position with occasional ad hoc work from home.
