Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, IT Consultant, Programmer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: establishing quantitative metrics to measure success of system changes throughout SAP Business Objects projects and communicating these to leadership; SAP Business Objects product suite, including web intelligence reports and Business Objects Universes; analyzing WEBI reports and Tableau dashboards of data to establish baseline metrics, confirm anticipated outcomes, and measure success of outcomes following system optimizations; developing and managing Data Quality tracking reports and dashboards to support Software Development Life Cycle activities; financial reporting, including WEBI standard, ad hoc reports and Tableau Dashboards; creating, testing, and deploying Shell scripts; executing efficient deep system analysis in Unix and Linux environment; utilizing SQL on databases such as Oracle for data analysis and communicating end results to leadership across various departments; creating Unit Testing and User Acceptance Testing scenarios on report development for transparency; enabling Row-Level-Security in Universe Designer; and application integrations utilizing the BO SDK.
