What you'll do

We are looking for an Information Assurance (IA) Systems Engineer who is eager to contribute to a small, fast-paced team! Our ideal candidate will have a security architecture background to support maintenance of U.S. Government Auhority to Operate (ATO) on two of our SATCOM ground systems. This role will support assessment and documentation of RMF security controls, taking ownership of and driving remediations, and documenting security architecture.

The day-to-day

In this role you will, provide technical support and guidance as part of a program's Information Assurance (IA) team. This will include security control assessment, security requirement analysis, security architecture analysis, and architecting the implementation of security controls. Our ideal candidate will have both a background in the NIST Risk Management Framework and secure system design.
  • Assess systems against RMF security controls.
  • Conduct interviews with domain experts to determine levels of compliance.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) and Critical Systems and Networks (CSN) teams to drive implementation of security controls.
  • Advocate for and drive system security initiatives.
  • Document system security architecture.
  • Influence decisions in Information Assurance (IA) Change Control Board (CCB)
  • Provide technical support to customer meetings
  • DoD 8140 compliant certification for Security Control Assessor - Advanced (e.g., CISSP, CySA+, etc.) required

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of system security design experience with focus on government systems
  • Intimate familiarity with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Familiarity with the RMF accreditation process
  • Familiarity with Protection Profiles and component evaluation using the Common Criteria process a plus
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols
  • Strong understanding of Defense-in-depth architecture
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Familiarity with Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) technologies and concepts.
  • Familiarity with Antivirus and Host Intrusion Detection System (AV/HIDS) technologies and concepts.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, take ownership of tasks and results
  • ship required and active USG Secret Clearance required
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary range

$135,000.00 - $213,500.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $168,000.00- $252,000.00/ annually
