*This is a short term contract*
We are seeking a Security Engineer with 8+ years of experience and expertise in Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in assessing, configuring, and enhancing vulnerability management tools and processes to align with industry best practices, including CIS Level-2 standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on technical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Request and obtain access to existing governance, workflows, and automated tools (e.g., Rapid-7, Wiz).
- Perform TVM Tool Capabilities Analysis for:- Rapid-7 (Console & Agent)
- Wiz
- Open-SCAP
- SCC
- Conduct Tool Configuration Analysis for the tools above to ensure optimized settings.
- Evaluate existing vulnerability assessment processes against:- CIS Level-2 standards
- Industry best practices
- Assess Golden Image hardening & lifecycle processes (minting, deployment, and maintenance) for compliance with CIS Level-2 security benchmarks.
- Implement and assist personnel in configuring approved TVM tool changes.
- Coordinate with policy & standard management stakeholders to update or develop new security policies.
- Deploy Brinqa TVM capabilities and integrate them into the existing security ecosystem.
- Work with stakeholders to refine the Golden Image framework & lifecycle based on security evaluations.
- Develop or update VTM workflows to ensure automation and efficiency.
- Perform testing & validation for all process and tool updates, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in threat & vulnerability management or security engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Rapid-7, Wiz, Open-SCAP, SCC, and Brinqa.
- Strong knowledge of CIS benchmarks, vulnerability assessment methodologies, and secure configuration practices.
- Experience with cloud security tools and governance frameworks.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
