  • Certifications in cloud computing, data architecture, and data analytics. You should be a Certified Solutions Architect, AI Data engineer, or Data Scientist from Azure, AWS, or Google. If not, you should get it within 3 months of joining.
  • End-to-end data architectures leverage cloud services for storage, processing, analysis, and visualization. Consider integrating with on-premises systems and multi-cloud scenarios for hybrid data architectures and disaster recovery strategies. Understand the organization's data requirements, including volume, variety, velocity, and veracity.
  • Design ingesting data from various sources, including databases, streaming platforms, IoT devices, and third-party APIs. Implement data integration pipelines using cloud-native services like AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Google Cloud Dataflow.
  • Design data storage solutions using cloud-native data stores such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, and relational or NoSQL databases like Amazon RDS and Azure SQL Database. Implement data partitioning, indexing, and optimization techniques.
  • Architect data processing pipelines for transforming, enriching, and analyzing data at scale. Cloud-native services like Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, and serverless frameworks for data processing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows. Define solutions using cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery) and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Enable self-service analytics capabilities for end users.
  • Define data governance policies and security controls to ensure data integrity, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA). Implement encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
  • Incorporate machine learning and AI capabilities into data solutions for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, recommendation systems, and other advanced use cases. Leverage cloud services like Azure Machine Learning for model training and deployment.
