Title - Maintenance Technician
Location: Houston, TX 77073
Duration: 12 Months Contract with Possible Extension
Rate: $40.00/Hour
Job Description:
The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machines and plant facility equipment, including specialized machinery such as forklifts, cranes, lathes, and mills. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical skills and adhere to all safety regulations to ensure uninterrupted production and a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment and facility systems.
Diagnose problems, dismantle machines, replace or repair defective parts, and make adjustments using a variety of hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities, maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, and control systems.
Maintain and repair specialized equipment such as forklifts, cranes, lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to perform required maintenance and service.
Fabricate and machine components for repairs and modifications using machine shop instrumentation and equipment as needed.
Comply with all company safety regulations, procedures, and local guidelines, including OSHA standards, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and work on-call schedules or varying shifts as required.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff, production workers, and engineers to identify issues and implement improvements.
Essential Requirements:
5+ years proven experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, stand for prolonged periods, climb ladders/stairs, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold).
Desirable Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems (low and high voltage), PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision machinery operation. Welding skills are a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). An Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is highly desired.
