About the Role:

As a Systems Engineer/ Network Security Engineer specializing in Palo Alto Networks, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and optimizing secure web gateway solutions to protect organizational assets and ensure secure internet access. You will work closely with our cybersecurity and IT networking teams to implement, manage, and troubleshoot secure web gateway solutions, leveraging Palo Alto Networks technology. This role demands a strong technical background, hands-on experience with secure web gateways, and a solid understanding of web security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation of Secure Web Gateway Solutions:
    1. Architect and implement secure web gateway solutions using Palo Alto Networks products to protect against web-based threats.
    2. Configure URL filtering, malware protection, SSL decryption, and data loss prevention to provide secure internet access.
    3. Integrate Palo Alto Networks solutions with existing IT infrastructure to ensure seamless deployment and optimal performance.
  1. Web Security and Threat Protection:
    1. Implement threat detection and prevention policies tailored to specific web gateway requirements.
    2. Conduct ongoing analysis of web traffic to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
    3. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to develop strategies that address emerging threats and support web security.
  1. Policy Configuration and Management:
    1. Develop and apply web security policies, URL filtering, application control, and content filtering.
    2. Regularly review and update policies to reflect evolving business needs and threat landscapes.
    3. Ensure proper configuration for user and group-based web access controls and permissions.
  1. Monitoring, Reporting, and Optimization:
    1. Monitor secure web gateway traffic and usage patterns to ensure adherence to security policies.
    2. Generate reports on web traffic, threat activity, and policy enforcement to inform security posture and management.
    3. Conduct periodic assessments to enhance system performance, scalability, and response times.
  1. Integration and Compliance:
    1. Ensure integration of the secure web gateway with existing identity and access management systems, SIEM, and other security tools.
    2. Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  1. Support and Troubleshooting:
    1. Provide Level 2/3 support for secure web gateway issues, handling escalations and troubleshooting complex problems.
    2. Develop and deliver training to IT staff and end-users on secure web gateway policies and best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Network Security Engineer, or similar role.
  3. Strong expertise in Palo Alto Networks secure web gateway technology and other network security tools.
  4. Hands-on experience with URL filtering, SSL decryption, threat prevention, and data loss prevention in a secure web gateway context.
  5. Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols, including HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS, and network fundamentals.
  6. Experience with cloud-based security platforms and familiarity with Palo Alto s Prisma Access is a plus.
  7. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on technical troubleshooting.

  1. Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
