Job Details
Job Title: 7106 - Senior Azure Cloud Consultant (DevOps Architect)
Location: Sacramento
Duration: 12 months (July 2025 June 2026, with potential extension)
Overview:
A government agency is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Consultant to support ongoing modernization and cloud infrastructure initiatives. The consultant will work closely with internal architecture and DevOps teams to design, build, and automate secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, Terraform, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a cloud infrastructure architecture to support data platform modernization efforts.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and resource management.
- Build and maintain secure and scalable DevOps pipelines and cloud automation workflows.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and governance frameworks aligned with GDPR, SOC 2, and internal security standards.
- Support cloud-based disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
- Create detailed runbooks, infrastructure diagrams, and operational documentation.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and train internal staff on best practices and operational support procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform in Azure or AWS.
- 5+ years of experience with Git, CI/CD, and code pipelines.
- 5+ years of experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- 5+ years of experience implementing cloud-based disaster recovery methods and strategies.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, infrastructure security, and governance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting public sector or regulated enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Power BI, and data platform modernization.
- Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and compliance enforcement frameworks.
Additional Information:
- Must provide evidence of recent security awareness training covering phishing, 2FA, data privacy, and malware threats.
- Consultant will use their own laptop and tools unless otherwise specified.
