Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled Tandem (HP NonStop) developer and technical leader to support and enhance the credit card transaction authorization platform. As a Senior Tech Lead, you will play a critical role in maintaining the performance and reliability of high-volume transaction systems while also mentoring team members and contributing to architectural evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for the Tandem authorization team, providing hands-on design, development, and support of critical credit card authorization systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and product managers to deliver highly available and scalable solutions.
- Act as a bridge between developers and management, facilitating communication and ensuring delivery timelines are met.
- Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews, system analysis, and troubleshooting for production issues.
- Participate in efforts to modernize legacy systems, while maintaining compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with QA, DevOps, and release teams to ensure seamless deployment and support.
- Play a key role in building trust with existing teams, contributing immediately to key initiatives while ramping up toward future leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 10+ years of experience working with Tandem/HP NonStop systems, specifically in Base24, COBOL, TACL, Pathway, and Enscribe environments.
- Deep knowledge of authorization, transaction switching, and credit card processing logic.
- Proven experience in high-volume, low-latency payment systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 8583 messaging standards.
- Solid experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills must be able to gain team confidence quickly.
