What You'll Do

The Citrix System Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the Citrix virtualization environment within the enterprise infrastructure. This includes Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, Citrix ADC, and related Windows-based infrastructure. This role ensures stable and secure access to enterprise applications while supporting business continuity and innovation. The role involves working across IT domains including automation, server administration, virtualization, storage, security, and cloud technologies, with a primary emphasis on Citrix environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support, maintenance, and monitoring of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (on-premises and/or Citrix Cloud).
  • Perform configuration, updates, patching, and upgrades across Citrix infrastructure components.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Citrix ADC (NetScaler) for secure access and load balancing.
  • Maintain Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS) and/or Provisioning Services (PVS).
  • Ensure seamless integration with Active Directory, Group Policy, FSLogix, and profile management tools.
  • Collaborate with virtualization, storage, network, and security teams to support backend systems that interface with Citrix.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning through replication and backup technologies (e.g., Veeam, Zerto, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents, performance issues, and service outages.
  • Document systems configurations, maintenance activities, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and capacity planning.
  • Contribute to automation efforts for image management and software deployment.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for Citrix-related issues.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for virtual infrastructure support.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering or vendor support as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in IT or related field (or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
  • Experience with server hardware (Cisco UCS preferred) and Windows/Linux OS.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools is a plus.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Citrix Studio, Director, and Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
  • Familiarity with Citrix licensing, image management, and user profile handling.

Preferred Requirements

  • Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V)
  • Server+, A+, or equivalent
