Location: Oakland, CA
Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $44.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Hardware Technician for an exciting tech company based in the bay area with a global business presence.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain 3D printer and laser cutter to build small scale prototypes
  • Post-processing parts from 3D printer and laser cutter
  • Develop and modify digital models of components and fixtures using Computer Aided Design as required
  • Manage prototyping materials, 3D printer and supplies in the lab
  • Perform soldering and rework on PCBs
  • Operate test equipment (OMM, Instron, drop, thermal, T&H chamber)
  • Support general lab organization and upkeep, including monthly and annual equipment calibration, maintenance, repair, and inventory
  • Execute and manage work through checklists and SOPs
  • Adhere to best practices to build out and define new lab procedures as needed
  • Ability to safely handle hazardous chemicals in a lab setting, adhere to strict safety protocols, and usage of protective equipment
  • Update and execute JIRA requests, including clear and timely communication with the team

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience as a lab manager or technician in a consumer electronics field
  • Expertise in the hardware lab with test, measurement, and prototyping with 3D printing, machining, and specialized test equipment.
  • CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute test plans with minimal supervision and imperfect procedures in a highly demanding environment
  • Initiative to recognize areas of improvement and take action
    Education:Even better:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Ability to read schematics, PCB layout, and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair circuit boards
  • DC power analyzer, Oscilloscope, Multimeter
  • Jira, G.Suite
