Job Description Senior Business Analyst - Healthcare Medicaid Eligibility / Enrollment / EDI Transactions
Summary The Senior Business Analyst- Medicaid (BA) will be responsible for driving the requirements gathering, documentation, and solution validation including the change, merge, and integration of CEV and Eligibility/Enrollment System. This role will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure requirements are accurately captured, clearly communicated, and successfully delivered throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation process for CEV and integrations, and workflow consolidations.
Partner with clinical, operational, and technical teams to understand current workflows and design optimized future-state processes.
Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Support development and testing teams in clarifying requirements and ensuring traceability through the project lifecycle.
Facilitate process mapping sessions to align workflows across merged systems and multiple sites.
Collaborate with vendors, architects, and infrastructure teams to validate system integrations and compatibility.
Assist in developing change impact assessments and support the creation of training and communication materials for stakeholders.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by reviewing test plans, ensuring test coverage, and validating results.
Prepare and deliver clear, actionable reports and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Mentor junior business analysts and support consistent documentation and standards across the program. Experience & Skills
8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare IT, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior analyst role.
Proven expertise in Healthcare Medicaid Eligibility
Strong knowledge of EDI
Proficiency in requirements management and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, or equivalent).
Excellent skills in process modeling, workflow optimization, and gap analysis.
Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across clinical, technical, and leadership teams.
Familiarity with compliance standards including HIPAA
Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear business terms.
Agile-related certifications preferred.
