Job Title: Security Architect Consultant
Location: Columbia, SC, USA (Remote )
This position works as a Security Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer within the Division of Information Security. The role involves assisting with the implementation, integration, and operationalization of security technologies, developing automation integrations among security tools, and contributing to information security architecture and solution design to support strategic planning, design, and implementation of new systems and secure changes to existing systems.
Responsibilities:
Identity and Access Management: Implement and configure single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), Active Directory, and applications to support IT and security operations.
Develop and implement automation for disparate security and enterprise IT tools.
Plan, design, develop, and implement enterprise security solutions aligned with business goals and risk tolerance.
Design, deploy, and manage countermeasures to known security threats and develop preventative mitigation strategies for new and emerging threats.
Ensure, validate, and measure consistent application of protective measures across business applications and infrastructure.
Take appropriate action to protect enterprise data, networks, and technology services.
Required Skills (in order of importance):
5+ years of experience and expertise in identity and access control, logging, and reporting systems.
5+ years of experience in automation development using tools such as Python and Bash.
Cybersecurity awareness and understanding.
5+ years of experience with Linux, Windows, and network security protocols and procedures.
5+ years of experience supporting large IT environments and/or system deployments.
Preferred Skills (in order of importance):
SIEM analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of security frameworks: NIST, CSF, CJIS, IRS 1075, CMS MARS-E.
Application security (AppSec).
Required Education / Certifications:
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or Information Security related field, or 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred Education / Certifications:
CISSP, CISA, CISO, or equivalent advanced security certifications.
Additional certifications such as CEH, OSCP, GPEN.
Vendor certifications in SIEM or logging technologies.
