About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake-focused Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of advanced data solutions with a focus on IoT pipelines, ML integration, and containerized applications on Snowpark Container Services (SPCS). This role will work closely with the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team to ensure adherence to standards while accelerating innovation in ML, IoT streaming, and advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Snowflake IoT Data Pipelines (Batch + Streaming)
- Design, implement, and optimize IoT ingestion pipelines using Snowflake Streams, Snowpipe, Tasks, and orchestration tools.
- Build pipelines to handle raw sensor telemetry, third-party APIs, and internal data shares.
- Support SCD Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 incremental data processing.
- Machine Learning Operations (Snowpark + Cortex AI)
- Deploy, monitor, and optimize ML models (e.g., predictive maintenance, fuel efficiency, itinerary optimization) within Snowflake.
- Leverage Cortex AI services for advanced analytics, semantic enrichment, and intelligent applications.
- Containerized Applications on Snowflake SPCS
- Build and deploy CI/CD native containerized applications (custom APIs, analytics services, optimizers) on Snowflake SPCS.
- Manage the full lifecycle: packaging, scaling, monitoring, troubleshooting.
- Integrate containerized applications with Snowflake data assets and downstream systems.
- Collaboration & EDM Alignment
- Partner with EDM to align on standards while extending scope into ML and IoT streaming.
- Manage permissions, roles, cross-account access, and collaborate with platform vendors.
- Document, automate, and standardize deployments.
- Troubleshoot ML/Cortex-based application issues for end users.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Architect with deep Snowflake expertise.
- Strong knowledge of IoT pipelines, ML integration, and containerized apps.
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0 modeling and SQL stored procedures.
- Hands-on with dbt and/or Matillion (nice-to-have).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work across engineering and business teams.
