Job Details

Our direct client, a global alternative asset management firm, is seeking to add a business-focused technologist to their team in a long term consulting role, to assist with advancing the technology capabilities of the Middle Office business.
This consultant will work closely with the Middle Office, as well as key stakeholders in Fund Finance and Front Office to gather and document business requirements and coordinate the development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of these requirements. Candidates must be local and able to work onsite 2-3 days per week in NYC. No third party candidates please.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with middle office professionals to understand and produce business and functional requirements and collaborate with the development teams to implement solutions
  • Work with Apollo internal resources as well as application vendors to establish the appropriate development approach, budget, and timeline
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Develop end-user training materials and deliver training to a broad user base
  • Assist with the analysis of middle office platform processes and capabilities and the ongoing development of a technology strategy
  • Partner with the business to ensure SLAs and other key metrics are met or exceeded
  • Identify best practices for optimizing system use both internally and externally
  • Develop test cases and participate in QA Testing
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Advanced degree from a top university strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of technology experience in financial services technology
  • Deep understanding of the middle and back office post-trade functions (e.g., trade operations, collateral management, asset servicing, reconciliation, etc.)
  • Subject matter expertise in financial instruments (Bank Loans, Bonds, Derivatives, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the full trade lifecycle
  • Knowledge of middle and back-office application platforms (TradeFlow, CTM, ClearPar, FXAll, TriOptima, etc.)
  • Knowledge of OMS/EMS platforms a plus
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the global technology team
  • Strong experience with both waterfall and agile project methodologies
  • Experience working with data warehouses and business intelligence platforms
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL to analyze and research data as needed
  • Knowledge and experience using Tableau Dashboards
  • Experience with SnowFlake Data Cloud is a plus
  • Buy-side investment management knowledge including trade operations, data management, operational reporting, and investment accounting functions
