Description

Integrated Building Systems ( is a technology integration firm established in Columbus, Ohio, in 1993. They deliver the technology infrastructure and IT systems that make buildings smarter! They work with business owners, architects, and construction teams to create future-proof solutions that help people communicate better. They're seeking a skilled Lead AV Technician to join their team of expert designers, engineers, and technicians. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skill with the setup, installation, and operation of commercial-grade audio visual systems as well as the ability to troubleshoot and solve challenges. Required Skills: Ability to demonstrate competence and effective understanding of: - Equipment installation, Wire, and simple functionality check (Power, signal pass/display). - Equipment rack loading, wiring, and terminations. - Display mounting, setup, alignment, and wiring - Surface and ceiling speaker mounting, cabling, and wiring. Understand direct drive vs. constant voltage, proper loading levels, and cabling requirements. - Install, wire, and set-up room schedulers with connections to host. - Basic wireless presentation appliance setup and connections. - Install, wire, and set-up unified communication bars with host. - Understanding of basic network OSI Model, DHCP, and IP scopes. - Understanding of USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.x, A, B, C differences, limitations, and functionality. - Understanding of HDMI, HDSDI, VGA, DVI, DisplayPort connector uses and differences Responsibilities: Project Leadership: - Lead and supervise installation project from start to finish. - Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery. Installation Experience: - Install, configure, troubleshoot A/V systems in commercial environments. - Proficient in mounting and aligning displays, screen and projectors. Cabling and Termination: - Expertise in running and terminating various types of cabling, including HDMI, Cat6, and fiber optic cables. - Ensure neat and organized cable management practices. Equipment integration: - Integrate and program control systems (Crestron, QSC) for seamless A/V system operation. - Experience with DSP programming and audio equipment calibration. Product Knowledge - Familiarity with Biamp and Shure audio equipment, Crestron control systems, and other leading A/V technologies. Documentation: - Create and maintain accurate documentation of installations, including wiring diagrams, configuration settings, and project reports Quality Assurance: - Perform thorough testing and quality checks on installed systems to ensure optimal performance -Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively. Required Qualifications: A valid driver's license and proof of U.S. citizenship. Ability to pass a drug test. Ability to drive a full-size van and maintain a clean driving record. Ability to lift large items up to 70 pounds, and lift 50 pounds overhead. Reliable transportation to work. A high school diploma or equivalent. Availability for full-time work, with typical work hours on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; days and hours will occasionally adjust to meet client needs. Travel to customer locations is usually within a two hour radius of Columbus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred Experience: A strong background in at least one of these commercial electronic systems: cellular radio communications, IP/SIP based telephones, constant voltage paging and sound reinforcement, IP/digital audio/video communications, security cameras, or access control. Working knowledge of various construction methods and tools with emphasis on structural and electrical standards for commercial environments. Digital audio and video transmission systems, switching, and cabling. Installation, programming, and commissioning of Crestron controls and DSP audio systems are a plus. CTS or CTS-I certification is a plus. Active amateur radio license is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
