We are seeking an exceptionally driven and technically astute Engineering Sales Specialist to join our elite team, focusing exclusively on the Alphabet (Google) account. This is a highly strategic role responsible for driving the adoption and expansion of our [Your Company's Product/Solution Category] within Google's diverse engineering and product organizations.
You will act as a critical bridge between Google's technical needs and our innovative solutions, identifying opportunities, articulating value, and collaborating closely with Google's engineers, product managers, and leadership. This role demands a deep understanding of Google's technical landscape, strong sales acumen, and the ability to build lasting relationships at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Account Penetration: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy specifically for the Alphabet (Google) account, identifying key stakeholders, technical challenges, and strategic initiatives where our solutions can add significant value.
- Technical Solutioning & Value Articulation: Conduct in-depth discovery meetings to understand Google's engineering requirements, existing infrastructure, and future roadmaps. Translate complex technical concepts into compelling business value propositions for Google's engineering and product teams.
- Relationship Building: Forge strong, trust-based relationships with a wide range of contacts within Google, including software engineers, engineering managers, product managers, technical leads, and procurement teams.
- Pipeline Generation & Management: Proactively identify new opportunities, build and manage a robust sales pipeline, and accurately forecast sales opportunities and revenue.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with our internal engineering, product, and customer success teams to ensure seamless solution delivery, technical support, and long-term customer satisfaction.
- Product Feedback Loop: Act as a critical conduit for feedback from Google, communicating their evolving needs and challenges back to our product development teams to influence future innovations.
- Negotiation & Closing: Lead contract negotiations, overcome technical and commercial objections, and close complex deals that align with both Google's objectives and our company's strategic goals.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, Google's internal technological developments, and competitive offerings to effectively position our solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Proven track record of success selling complex enterprise software, hardware, or cloud services to large, sophisticated technical organizations.
- Demonstrable experience working with or selling into the Alphabet (Google) account is highly preferred. Strong understanding of Google's organizational structure, engineering culture, and technical priorities is a significant asset.
- Deep technical understanding of [mention relevant technologies, e.g., cloud computing (Google Cloud Platform preferred), distributed systems, AI/ML concepts, data engineering, software development lifecycle, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, etc.].
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align with customer business objectives.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel as needed within the Bay Area and occasionally beyond.
