Job Details
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Systems Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating precision agriculture equipment.
- Familiarity with machinery and agricultural field operations.
- Experience in system validation, verification testing, and regression analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical reporting skills.
- Hands-on experience with equipment setup and infrastructure deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison with UC ANR South Coast Farm to coordinate all StarFire GNSS testing activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across ISG-T to align test operations and protocols at the Irvine site.
- Conduct field testing of GNSS receivers and agricultural machinery in experimental environments, including orchards.
- Execute software verification, validation, and regression testing for StarFire GNSS systems.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment; coordinate repairs with local dealers as needed.
- Manage on-site storage, readiness, and upkeep of test equipment and vehicles.
- Train and support UC ANR staff on Precision Ag technologies and best practices.
- Perform equipment setup, infrastructure installation, data logging/export, and performance analysis.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with farm management and engineering stakeholders.
- Apply GPS fundamentals through hands-on assignments and continuous learning.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of Precision Agriculture systems and GNSS technologies.
- Experience testing GNSS receivers in real-world environments.
- Familiarity with CAN bus communication protocols and hardware troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic field conditions
