Job Details

Title: Data Center Engineer (F5 & Network Focus)
Duration: 3-6+ Months
Location: Remote

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with expertise in large-scale Data Center (DC) migrations and Disaster Recovery (DR) transitions, with a specialized focus on F5 technologies and advanced networking strategies. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience designing and executing high-level technical migration plans, leveraging F5 s feature set to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute end-to-end strategies for Data Center migration and Disaster Recovery (DR) facility transition, ensuring availability, scalability, and resiliency.
Develop high-level technical designs (HLDs) and step-by-step implementation roadmaps that outline the migration process, including VLAN extension, routing changes, DNS considerations, and cutover sequencing.
Leverage F5 capabilities including LTM, GTM/DNS, iRules, SSL offload, APM, and traffic steering for application cutover, load balancing, and global traffic distribution during migrations.
Architect and implement solutions for stretched VLANs across wide-area networks, dynamic routing updates, and optimized traffic flow during DC-to-DC transitions.
Assess current environments, document dependencies, and create migration playbooks for application teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (networking, security, application owners, cloud engineers) to validate design approaches and ensure business continuity.
Perform dry runs, testing, and phased cutovers to validate designs and minimize risks during production migrations.
Support troubleshooting during migration events, providing Level 1 3 networking expertise to resolve routing, VLAN, and F5 traffic management issues.
Document lessons learned and provide knowledge transfer to operations teams for ongoing support.

Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience leading large-scale Data Center migrations and DR transitions with enterprise clients.
Deep technical knowledge of F5 BIG-IP platforms (LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM, APM, iRules).
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MP-BGP).
Expertise in VLAN stretching across WAN links, Layer 2/Layer 3 migration strategies, and routing convergence in multi-DC designs.
Hands-on experience designing high-level technical designs (HLDs) and low-level implementation plans.
Knowledge of DNS, SSL/TLS offload, traffic redirection, and global traffic management concepts.
Experience with cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to explain technical designs to both engineers and executives.

Preferred Qualifications:
F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or F5 Certified Solution Expert (CSE)
Experience with automation/scripting.
Prior work with PCI compliance, security audits, or highly regulated industries.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools..
