Job Title: Senior API Developer/Tech Lead (WebMethods API Developer with Apigee API Gateway experience.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced WebMethods Developer to design, implement, and support enterprise-level integrations using the Software AG WebMethods platform. The role focuses on providing robust production support for API management and integration services, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of API-based systems built on Webmethods/Google Apigee API gateway.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in middleware development, API integration, and business process automation, and be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain integrations using WebMethods components (Integration Server, Broker/UM, Trading Networks, MWS, and Designer).

Develop REST / SOAP-based web services for internal and external consumption.

Build and manage B2B integrations using Trading Networks and EDI modules.

Experience with Apigee Edge/API Gateway and Software AG webMethods Integration Server.

Hands-on experience in API proxy design, routing policies, traffic management, and caching strategies.

Good understanding of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and web services security protocols (OAuth2.0, JWT, API Key).

Perform regular health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning for API gateways.

Assist in API versioning, deployment, and lifecycle management

Maintain API security configurations, OAuth policies, and throttling rules in Apigee

Experience with production monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, ELK, Datadog).

Optimize the performance of integrations through profiling and tuning techniques.

Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure successful deployments and support.

Analyze logs and traces to identify root causes of incidents and apply fixes or workarounds.

Work closely with DevOps, infrastructure, and development teams for issue resolution and platform stability.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools and API deployment pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Apigee or webMethods platforms.

Exposure to cloud platforms like Google Cloud (Google Cloud Platform) or AWS.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
