Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our dynamic Product Team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring IT products meet customer needs and align with strategic business goals. You will work closely with product leadership to identify, elicit, and decompose requirements, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and support the delivery of mission-critical software solutions.

This position operates within a fast-paced Agile and DevSecOps environment, requiring adaptability, collaboration, and a proactive mindset. Your contributions will directly impact the success of innovative software products that support high-priority initiatives.

What you will do

  • Analyze and translate business needs into actionable product backlog items using tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Support product managers in backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and product roadmap management
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint reviews) and apply Agile Scrum best practices to ensure team alignment and delivery
  • Assist in estimation, complexity assessments, and test planning using Agile software development methodologies
  • Manage and maintain product documentation, knowledge bases, and body of evidence (BOE) using Microsoft 365 (M365) tools
  • Identify and track internal and external dependencies and proactively manage risks throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient product delivery in alignment with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Conduct requirements elicitation sessions and translate findings into Epics, Features, and User Stories
  • Leverage technical data analysis to generate insights that inform product decisions and improve team performance
  • Apply AWS cost management knowledge to support cloud budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Conduct user research and stakeholder interviews to gather feedback and improve product usability and value
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you need to have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Must have and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in Agile software product delivery or direct support of a software development team
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiarity with backend and frontend technologies
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Agile product management.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Demonstrated ability to manage product roadmaps, sprint backlogs, and requirements documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on-site at a secure facility in Washington, D.C.
  • Interest in data science topics and methodologies

What we'd like you to have

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with government risk management frameworks (e.g., RMF)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and cloud environments (especially AWS)
  • Demonstrated success in backlog management and Agile product delivery
  • Knowledge of user research methodologies and stakeholder engagement
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AgilePM, SAFe, AWS)
