Position Summary
We are seeking an REL Documentation Specialist I to support the development, review, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and process documentation. This role will also provide end-user support for electronic manuals and systems while ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Working under general supervision with limited discretion, the Documentation Specialist will perform moderately complex tasks with moderate business impact and contribute to policy development, communication strategies, and user acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure project deliverables meet customer expectations, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Conduct research and prepare accurate reference material.
- Support the full lifecycle of projects from initiation through implementation.
- Identify, communicate, and help resolve technical, tactical, and operational project issues.
- Maintain and update documentation libraries to ensure accuracy and currency.
- Provide end-user training for electronic manuals and reference materials.
- Review proposed policies/procedure updates for technical adequacy, completeness, and compliance.
- Administer and develop eNet content.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT): create test cases, execute testing, validate/document results, and communicate findings.
- Create concise, clear, and effective reference material, online instructions, and communications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional sub-teams to define user requirements and specifications.
- Organize policies and procedures according to established standards.
- Contribute to strategy development for internal communications.
- Participate in teams and task groups for projects within or across business units.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong written communication skills with knowledge of grammar and style standards (preferably Navy Federal s).
- Experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in researching, compiling, and documenting data, business processes, and workflows.
- Experience supporting cross-functional and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Working knowledge of PC and web/internet-based technologies, including HTML, editing/authoring tools, and content development platforms.
- Proficiency with databases, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and presentation tools.
- Ability to translate processes and requirements into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Ability to interpret and apply guidelines, procedures, and regulations accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate s Degree in Communication Studies (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Familiarity with Navy Federal Credit Union s products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Experience with advanced documentation, content management, or policy management systems.
