Position: Lead Systems Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 Months
Main skill: Hands-on production experience configuring and maintaining CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway MFT platforms is a must have.
Description:
Drive critical file transfer infrastructure as an MFT Automation Engineer at our client. You'll architect and implement secure, high-performance file transmission solutions using CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway, ensuring seamless data exchange across enterprise systems while supporting mission-critical business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise-grade MFT solutions using CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway to enable secure, reliable data exchange
- Develop sophisticated automation routines using shell scripting and Perl to streamline file transfer workflows and eliminate manual processes
- Configure and optimize Connect: Direct and file agent scripts to support high-volume, mission-critical data transfers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues and ensure seamless integration across systems
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for secure file transmission solutions that meet regulatory and operational needs
- Provide expert-level support for production MFT systems, including participation in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance windows
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Unix/Linux application support experience with demonstrated proficiency in Bash/Korn Shell and Perl programming
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting TCP/IP connectivity issues and optimizing MFT workflows in complex network environments
- Hands-on production experience configuring and maintaining CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway MFT platforms
- Proven expertise with IBM Sterling Connect: Direct and enterprise file transfer protocols (SFTP/SSH, FTPS/SSL, HTTPS, PGP/GPG)
- Strong problem-solving abilities with demonstrated success managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and business stakeholders
