IDEALFORCE has a CONTRACT position available immediately for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our customer in Phoenix AZ. Please find below additional details about this job. This position does not have direct reports.
- Analyzes and assesses existing applications, infrastructure, and technical environments to identify risks and opportunities to cloud migration strategies
- Identifies and recommends cloud migration tools, frameworks, and methodologies to optimize the cloud migration strategies
- Develops detailed cloud migration plans, including resource allocation and technical requirements
- Implements, manages, and supports the cloud migration strategies
- Provides technical guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, scalability, and performance targets Project Leadership
- As the SME/Lead, collaborates with project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and developers to manage and lead end-to-end cloud migration projects, overseeing the planning, execution, and post-migration activities
- Manages and leads the agency-wide cloud strategy adoption process
- Agency/Department Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Remains current on all laws, regulations, policies, and best practices related to cloud-based solutions and architecture through regular engagement in activities such as: self-directed research, conferring with other practitioners and technical experts; subscriptions to job related articles, newsletters, and briefs; membership industry associations and attendance at meetings/events; and or participation in training and others continuing education opportunities.
- Actively contributes to team and individual effectiveness through the following: -
- -Attends staff meetings and huddles of work unit or district; and may cascade and track information as indicated
- -Completes all required training in a timely manner.
- -Participates in assigned work teams as appropriate.
- -May complete periodic metrics, projects, huddle boards and reports as requested.
- -Prepares for and actively participates in 1:1 coaching with supervisor
- Maximizes work processes and deliverables through lean principles within the Arizona Management System (AMS); and provides recommendations for process improvement, and engages in continuous improvement efforts as assigned.Other duties as assigned
- Any combination that meets the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA); typical ways KSAs are obtained may include but are not limited to: a relevant degree from an accredited college or university such as Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., B.A.), training, coursework, and work experience relevant to the assignment.
- Minimum of nine (9) years experience with AWS Infrastructure services (architecture / administration / operations)
- Minimum of eight (8) years of IT implementation experience
- Minimum five (5) years of cloud solutions experience, including architecting, developing, and deploying applications and platforms to the public cloud
Current certification in one of the following Public Cloud Architectures:
o AWS Certified Solutions Architect
o Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect
o Azure Solutions Architect
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of cloud computing platforms and their service offerings
- Working knowledge of project management needs, to include integration, scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, and risk
- Knowledge of current industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to cloud migration and application modernization
- Understanding of networking and security Skills
- Superb communications skills, to include verbal, written, and active listening with the ability to convey technical information in layman's terms
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Proficiency in the use of a PC in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint; and in the use of Google Suite applications such as Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive
- Expert level proficiency in cloud computing platforms and scripting languages, such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, Terraform, DevOps, Git, Kubernetes
- Ability to clear a comprehensive background and clearance process that includes an Arizona tax compliance verification, and a criminal background check through the FBI via level one fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- Ability to design and develop application-to-cloud migration solutions and strategies with a high degree of expertise
- Ability to develop and write technical documentation such as project plans, proposals, and policies
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, and also participate collaboratively to lead and champion cross- functional teams and drive successful cloud migration initiatives
- Ability to think creatively, critically, and strategically when analyzing and proposing cloud migration solutions
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Ability to present to teams and interact comfortably with individuals at all levels
- Ability to learn and apply LEAN concepts, principles, and tools
- Ability to understand and solve problems by applying advanced analytical skills to include collecting, integrating and analyzing all relevant data and information and reduced that information down to manageable components and/or charts, diagrams or graphs; identifying a number of solutions to complex problems integrating findings from several different disciplines, identifying and evaluating the various options developed and selects the most effective solution; drawing logical and objective conclusions from the data and validates them as the prime cause and contributing causes; identifying a number of solutions to the problem by identifying and evaluating the various options developed and selects the most effective solution.

- In the course of performing the essential duties one must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, specifically
- Minimum of nine (9) years experience with AWS Infrastructure services (architecture / administration / operations)
- Minimum of eight (8) years of IT implementation experience
- Minimum five (5) years of cloud solutions experience, including architecting, developing, and deploying applications and platforms to the public cloud
- Current certification in one of the following Public Cloud Architectures: o AWS Certified Solutions Architect o Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect o Azure Solutions Architect
