Position Description:
Virginia State University (VSU) is seeking an Enterprise Architect (EA) to design and diagram the institution's IT platforms, solutions, network and infrastructure in alignment with business goals and objectives.
3 Days on site.
Information Technology Services (ITS) at Virginia State University (VSU) is seeking an Enterprise Architect (EA) to design and diagram the institution's IT platforms, solutions, network and infrastructure in alignment with business goals and objectives. This position will play a key role in technology transformations and integrations across the University.
Key Responsibilities
Design IT Architecture: Develop and document enterprise architecture models that align with the organization's business strategy and goals.
Integration: Work collaboratively with the Infrastructure and Operations teams to document integrations of IT systems and processes across the institution to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including senior management and technical teams, to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Governance: Work with IT GRC to ensure processes exists for managing enterprise data, solutions, and infrastructure portfolios.
Risk Management: Work with the CISO and IT GRC to identify and mitigate risks associated with technology and system architecture to ensure security and compliance.
Miscellaneous: Other duties as identified and assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills: Proficiency in designing and documenting IT solutions using tools such as MS Visio, with a strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies is required.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex systems and identify areas for improvement is required.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is required.
Required Experience:
o 10+ years of experience in IT roles, including technical, model development, and platform management. (Higher education preferred.)
o 5+ years of experience producing EA platform models.
o 5+ years of experience creating boundary, infrastructure, network and data diagrams.
o 5+ years of demonstrated ability to work independently with some guidance on work product.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment
Setting: Primarily onsite with options for remote work.
