Must be local to DC, MD, and VA States or within a 2-hour commute.

We are seeking a talented Azure Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a mission-critical program on Microsoft Azure. This program is essential to our organization's success, and your expertise will be crucial in ensuring its stability, performance, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into secure, highly available, and scalable Azure solutions aligned with the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- Design and implement robust Azure architectures for the mission-critical program, leveraging best practices for infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
- Deep dive into Azure services like Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory, and others to create the optimal solution.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation of the entire architecture.
- Partner with developers, security engineers, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of the solution.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the platform meets the highest security standards.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in Azure and cloud technologies.
- Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the Azure environment.
Qualifications:
- Active DoD Top Secret
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience with mission-critical architecture principles and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices for cloud deployments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
