AML and Sanctions Investigation Consultant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented AML/Sanctions Investigation Consultant to support compliance efforts related to anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions regulations. This role involves reviewing alerts, identifying potentially suspicious activities, and conducting enhanced investigations as necessary. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively across departments and manage their workload independently while ensuring regulatory compliance and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review AML transaction monitoring alerts to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulatory requirements and properly document findings.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence and investigations on entities or transactions flagged as potentially suspicious.
• Analyze Sanctions Screening alerts generated through nightly system scans against relevant watchlists.
• Perform investigative research on individuals and entities in response to FinCEN 314(a) requests.
• Maintain thorough documentation to support audit trail and ensure ease of review.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of investigation processes and procedures.
• Support additional duties as part of the Investigations & Monitoring team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree required; ACAMS certification preferred.
• 4 6 years of experience in AML compliance, sanctions screening, or related investigative roles.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. AML regulations and OFAC guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with financial products and services.
• Understanding of payment systems and basic IT systems related to financial transactions.
