Global IT Facilities Services is responsible for overseeing all of Ford's computing facilities' infrastructure, including its data centers, co-location facilities, network hubs, manufacturing computer rooms, and office sites. The department is responsible for the planning, engineering, and monitoring of all supporting mechanical and electrical IT infrastructure across the Ford global campus. In short, Global IT Facilities Services is the foundation on which all IT is built.

As part of this team, you will work with NA and SA manufacturing sites, reviewing existing infrastructure and providing recommendations for enhancements. You will also collaborate with EU and IMG counterparts for regional knowledge sharing and global standardization and work, and you will work with finance and project management teams to obtain and manage funding, as well as direct and manage equipment procurement, delivery, and installation.

What you'll be able to do:
  • Assess Manufacturing Sites' electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Design electrical and mechanical infrastructure for plant data centers.
  • Generate recommendations based on on-site assessment.
  • Project Manage - supervise equipment procurement, delivery, and installation.
  • Supervise site construction and equipment installation.
  • Work with electrical and mechanical SMEs; and Ford Land Architecture and Engineering firms.
  • Implement data center connectivity and analytic software.
  • Financial analysis; present recommendation to management.
  • Technology Research - understanding industry trends and failure modes to mitigate risk to Ford facilities.


The minimum requirements we seek:
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electrical and cooling infrastructure.
  • Ability to assess and provide recommendations based on collected information.
  • Ability to research specs and compare different company's products.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD


Our preferred requirements:
  • Advanced degree in information systems, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Project Management skills.
  • Ability to read technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Travel flexibility.
  • Manufacturing experience/understanding.
  • Inquisitive mind.
  • Strong background in MS Office apps.
  • Ability to state business case (technical writing).
  • Familiarity with data centers and data center technologies.
