About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Component Engineer to join our Microwave Center of Excellence. In this role, you will work with a team of skilled engineering professionals on the design, development, and support of Digital and RF/Microwave products. You will ensure electrical components meet the highest reliability and product life cycle requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Research component termination styles, plastic encapsulation styles, and construction processes.
  • Create Vendor Identification Drawings, Source Control Drawings, and Altered Item Drawings.
  • Lead component part standardization and selection.
  • Process change notices in PTC Windchill for Part BOM and maintain engineering BOM per LM processes.
  • Develop and execute component qualification test plans with external test houses.
  • Implement component screenings as directed by Parts Management Process plans.
  • Interface with customers to present part changes and hardware impact.
  • Lead component failure investigations.
  • Participate in qualifying alternate test houses for part finish mitigations and qualifications.
  • Research and assess impact of PCNs and obsolescence on programs.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Review parts in Siemens Expedition Library for approvals per PMP guidelines.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Experience in Component Engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience with PTC Windchill for BOM maintenance.
  • 6+ years of experience with Siemens Expedition Cockpit.
  • 6+ years of experience in RF component selection.
  • 6+ years of experience in part qualification and failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of military standards and automotive electronics standards.
