Job Title: Senior Project Manager IT & Construction
Location: Bloomington, IL
Job Type: Full-time | On-site (5 days/week)
Position Overview
Blue Chip Talent is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in both IT infrastructure and construction project management to support the buildout of a new manufacturing facility in the Bloomington, IL area.
This role requires hands-on experience managing complex construction projects within a manufacturing plant, including infrastructure setup, manufacturing (Conveyors, Robots, Etc), and IT equipment installation, and IT systems integration. The ideal candidate will bring both technical and operational expertise to ensure successful project execution from the ground up.
Candidates need to be local to the Bloomington IL area as this role is 100% on-site as they will need to manage on-site vendors for the build out.
All candidates must be on our w-2. NO C2C OR 3RD PARTY VENDORS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS ROLE.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT and construction projects from planning through completion in a manufacturing setting.
- Review and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.
- Oversee installation and setup of manufacturing equipment (e.g., conveyors, robotics, machinery).
- Manage vendor relationships for both construction trades and equipment suppliers.
- Coordinate server room builds, CAT5/6 cable drops, and network infrastructure deployment.
- Drive project timelines, budgets, and resource plans across multiple disciplines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineering, IT, facilities, and operations teams.
- Ensure all project activities align with safety, compliance, and operational standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of project management experience in IT and construction projects.
- 2+ years managing construction projects within a manufacturing plant.
- Proven experience with equipment installation and IT infrastructure setup in a new build environment.
- Strong understanding of server room design, network cabling, and on-prem IT systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and MEP documents.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and vendor management skills.
Preferred:
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
- Experience with manufacturing automation systems and controls.
- Familiarity with industrial safety and construction compliance standards.
Work Environment
- This is a 100% on-site role based in Bloomington, IL.
- Candidates must be able to work on location Monday through Friday and support field coordination across active construction and installation zones.
