Job Summary:


The Application and Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, implementation, and optimization of enterprise applications within the organization. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that applications meet business needs, are effectively sourced, implemented, maintained, and are continuously improved to support organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Application Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, including requirement gathering, product selection, deployment, configuration, integration, maintenance, and support.

  • Project Management: Lead and manage application-related projects, including upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and new implementations. Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.

  • Compliance: Ensure that applications comply with company policies, industry regulations, and security standards. Conduct regular audits and implement necessary controls. Interact with external auditors to provide appropriate IT and financial support as necessary.

  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with software vendors, including negotiating contracts, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and handling any issues or escalations.

  • Support and Troubleshooting: Act as the point of contact for application-related issues. Along with the IT Helpdesk, provide expert support and troubleshooting to resolve problems efficiently and minimize downtime.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor application performance and user satisfaction. Implement improvements to optimize application performance and reliability.

  • User Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs and documentation for end-users. Ensure users are effectively utilizing applications and provide ongoing support as needed. Provide technical assistance to users as required for them to fully utilize applications (i.e. report writing)

  • Collaboration: Work closely with business units to understand their needs and ensure that applications align with business requirements. Facilitate communication between IT and other departments.

  • Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Recommend and implement new technologies that can enhance application functionality and efficiency.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Certifications: ITIL, CGEIT, PMP or CISA highly desirable

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT application management or a related role, with a proven track record of successful project management and application optimization.

  • -Real estate application experience with MRI, AvidXchange, and RealPage or similar a plus


Skills:



  • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and ITIL practices.

  • Proficiency in application management tools and software.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

  • Strong project management skills, including experience with project management methodologies

  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and security standards including IT-related controls at a public company
