About the Role
We're seeking an experienced software engineer to join a unique team that blends product and platform engineering. This team is responsible for building critical software products and maintaining the platforms that support them-including a vital authentication platform.
You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where responsibilities are shared across a "divide and conquer" team model. The ideal candidate has strong software development skills, particularly in API development, databases, and cloud-native architecture using AWS (especially Lambda and multi-regional setups), and experience with Kong API Gateway.

About the Role

The ideal candidate has strong software development skills, particularly in API development, databases, and cloud-native architecture using AWS (especially Lambda and multi-regional setups), and experience with Kong API Gateway.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement applications and databases; integrate third-party products.
- Ensure application performance meets expectations and IT deliverables are viable.
- Recommend development options (build/buy/vendor), and conduct functionality, security, and performance testing.
- Elevate code through development, test, and production environments; provide production support.
- Mentor junior developers and provide subject matter expertise in software development methodologies and architecture standards.
- Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the development lifecycle.
- Communicate technical considerations effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with IT and Information Security policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of software development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience); Master's degree preferred.
- Strong experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, multi-region, event-driven architectures), TypeScript, Node.js.
- Proven track record in designing and building scalable, high-performance APIs for enterprise-grade applications.
- Experience deploying and supporting Kong in various configurations (API Gateway, Client Authentication, Ingress Controller, Mutual TLS Egress) is a strong plus.
