job summary:

Our client is seeking a a Senior Telecommunications Technician for a year-long contract with extensive experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure in complex, regulated environments- preferably healthcare. This position will focus on the design, installation, maintenance, and documentation of structured cabling systems, low-voltage infrastructure, and critical technologies such as paging systems and distributed antenna systems (DAS). The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise, the ability to draft technical Statements of Work (SoWs), and a deep understanding of industry codes and standards. This is a high-impact



role supporting essential IT services across multiple clinical and administrative facilities.



Responsibilities



- Install, terminate, test, and maintain copper and fiber optic cabling



systems across healthcare facilities.



- Maintain and support Overhead Paging (OHP), 800MHz Radio,



Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), and other critical



communication technologies.



- Respond to service requests, incidents, and infrastructure changes



within defined SLAs.



- Draft and review Statements of Work (SoWs) for contractor bids and



project execution.



- Conduct assessments, develop cost estimates, and support IT



project budgeting for low-voltage infrastructure.



- Manage 811 utility locate requests and ensure underground work



complies with all safety and regulatory standards.



- Support data centers and IDFs, including infrastructure design, rack



and cabinet layout, and environmental monitoring.



- Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio, and Schneider



Electric StructureWare for documentation and planning.



- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure



successful deployment of telecom infrastructure projects.



- Maintain accurate records, diagrams, schematics, and permit



documentation in compliance with industry regulations.



Required Technical Experience



- Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on telecommunications infrastructure experience.



- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ANSI/TIA, IEEE, and BICSI standards and codes.



- Proficient in cable testing and troubleshooting using tools such as:



o OTDRs



o Fluke DSX-8000 (DS800)



o Fiber inspection scopes and certification testers



- Experience configuring and supporting Layer 1 and Layer 2 systems including:



o Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber)



o IP paging systems



o UPS, PDU, and environmental monitoring equipment



- Ability to draft SoWs, RFPs/RFQs, and technical documentation with attention to detail.



- Familiarity with DCIM tools and platforms such as AutoCAD, Visio, Schneider Electric



StructureWare, Informacast, and Bluebeam.



- Experience working in healthcare, data centers, or other high-compliance environments



preferred.



Required Certifications



Must hold at least two of the following preferred certifications:



- BICSI Technician Certification



- BICSI Fiber Optic Certification



- OTDR CPRI Fiber Testing



- CompTIA Certification



- Panduit Cabling and Fiber Certification



- Equivalent industry-recognized certifications
