We are seeking a technically skilled Records Clerk to join a dynamic Information Management team within a leading utility organization. This is a contract opportunity located in Austin, TX, offering a hybrid work arrangement that combines both in-office and remote flexibility. The Records Clerk will play a pivotal role in supporting records management, imaging, and compliance initiatives across the enterprise. This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, possess a strong understanding of document management systems, and are committed to maintaining high standards of data integrity and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Information Management team with records imaging and publishing using Perceptive Document Management and related enterprise content management (ECM) tools.
- Ensure accurate entry, classification, and maintenance of records data in accordance with company standards and retention policies.
- Support employees and contractors in activities related to records classification, retention, and compliance, under the direction of senior records staff.
- Provide assistance with the management of both physical and digital inventory, ensuring secure storage and accessibility of records.
- Respond to inbound and after-hours calls regarding record requests, delivering prompt and professional customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the delivery of training programs and assist in educating functional groups on compliance requirements and records management best practices.
- Participate in records management activities at field and remote office locations as directed, ensuring consistent application of standards across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with team members to support other services within the Records Management department as needed, including process improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in records and information management, preferably within a technical, utility, or regulated industry environment.
- Proficiency in enterprise content management (ECM) systems and document management software such as Perceptive Document Management or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with records retention policies and regulatory compliance requirements for document handling and storage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to classify, organize, and audit records for accuracy and compliance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting training initiatives or delivering instructional content related to records management or compliance is a plus.
- Previous exposure to utility operations records, geographic parcel data, or legal research related to land, leases, or oil-well documentation is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to evolving requirements, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional after-hours support for record requests as needed.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to perform work on-site as required by the role.
Pay Range: $15.00 - $20.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
