Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardware Technician to support our enterprise-wide Windows 11 migration project. The technician will be responsible for preparing, deploying, and troubleshooting hardware and software as part of the upgrade process. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and configure hardware for Windows 11 deployment, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Perform imaging and installation of Windows 11 operating system using deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, Intune).
Backup and restore user data as needed during migration.
Ensure all hardware meets Windows 11 compatibility requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues during and after migration.
Maintain accurate records of assets, configurations, and deployment status.
Provide on-site or remote support to end-users during the transition.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
Assist with decommissioning and recycling of legacy hardware.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a hardware technician or similar IT support role.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, especially Windows 10 and 11.
Familiarity with imaging tools and deployment technologies (e.g., PXE boot, SCCM, MDT).
Understanding of hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.
A+ Certification or equivalent is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in large-scale OS migration projects.
Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
