Job Details

Job Description:

  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups/shutdowns of hardware (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following detailed instructions and protocols.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling per safety and deployment standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes, and replace faulty components.
  • Decommission hardware for upgrades or refreshes (e.g., memory, OS rebuilds) with minimal supervision.
  • Follow escalation procedures to report incidents to Data Center Technician Leads.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and replace failed components.
  • Provide logistics/warehouse support (shipping/receiving).
  • Handle and audit storage media/Data Bearing Devices (DBDs).
  • Perform basic server repairs (discrete/rack-based) using documented procedures.
  • Update and audit Microsoft assets.
  • Build out Middle of Rack (MOR) infrastructure.
  • Perform power cycles and coordinate RMAs with logistics.
  • Install software and firmware updates.
  • Stage, run, and label cables; troubleshoot connectivity and networking issues.
  • Clean fiber links and test/QC power and cable connections.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous data center experience.
  • Basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting skills.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • Eyes: ANSI/CE/EN approved safety glasses with side shields
  • Hands: Level 5 cut/abrasion/impact-resistant gloves
  • Feet: Steel/composite toe boots with 6-inch ankle coverage
  • Body: High visibility vests
  • Face: Cloth or N95 masks (no bandanas, scarves, or gaiters)

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
