RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Scientist in Hoffman Estates, IL.
Responsibilities:
* Data Scientist will design and implement database solutions to support financial reporting, analysis, and modeling
* Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and views to optimize data storage and retrieval
* Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze financial data from various sources
* Collaborate with corporate finance teams to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise in database design and optimization
* Lead and mentor a team of business analysts, providing guidance on best practices in data analysis, reporting, and database development
* Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to visualize financial data and key performance indicators
* As a Data Scientist, you will partner with IT teams in system implementation and integration efforts to ensure seamless data flow and compatibility with existing systems
* Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security through regular monitoring, maintenance, and backups
* Troubleshoot database issues and performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize database performance
* Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in database management, SQL programming, and dashboard design
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred
* Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Data Scientist, Database Administrator, Database Developer, or similar role, preferably supporting a corporate finance team, providing direct reporting to executive leadership and C-Suite
* Experience with Snowflake data platform, including data modeling, querying, and administration
* Experience in designing and optimizing database schemas for financial applications
* Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
* Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and database normalization
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Proficiency in SQL programming and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
* Strong organizational and people management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
* Coordinated project timelines and resource allocation, ensuring smooth collaboration between teams in a fast-paced environment
* Leadership & People Management: Team Coordination, Mentorship, Cross-functional Collaboration
* Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
* Familiarity with SaaS/Subscription Metrics and financial measures, with a focus on recurring revenue: Churn Prevention, Customer Funnel, Customer Lifetime Value, ARR
* Forecasting, FP&A, and Customer KPI Projections
* Adept at collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets, and performing data management tasks
* Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders
* Demonstrate ability in performing statistical analyses and creating predictive data models to deliver insights and implement action-oriented solutions
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
