We are looking for iSeries AS400 Consultant for our client in Franklin Lakes, NJ
Job Title: iSeries AS400 Consultant
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
Pay Range: $47hr - $52hr
- The iSeries AS400 Consultant will be responsible for system engineering, administration, job scheduling, automation, security, compliance, and advanced support across IBM iSeries environments. This role involves maintaining hardware and operating systems, performing updates, optimizing system performance, ensuring security compliance, and providing high-level troubleshooting support.
- Experience with IBM iSeries hardware and OS installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Ability to perform system updates including PTFs, Cumulative Updates, and IPLs.
- Experience monitoring and tuning system performance.
- Knowledge of PowerVM for virtualization.
- Experience implementing IBM Workload Scheduler for batch automation.
- Ability to design job flows with dependencies and error handling.
- Experience conducting system audits.
- Understanding of security protocols and disaster recovery standards.
- Ability to provide L3/L4 support.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, OS, and application issues.
- 10+ years of experience with IBM iSeries systems.
- Experience with IBM DB2.
- Experience with IBM i OS versions including V5R4, V6R1, V7R1, V7R2, V7R3, V7R4.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server used for related components.
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM iSeries hardware and operating systems
- Apply system updates including PTFs, Cumulative Updates, and IPLs.
- Monitor and tune system performance.
- Manage virtualization using PowerVM.
- Implement IBM Workload Scheduler for automation.
- Design automated job flows with required parameters.
- Conduct system audits and ensure security compliance.
- Provide L3/L4 support for iSeries environments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues
- Strong understanding of the OSI networking model.
- Expertise in OS/400.
- Expertise in IBM DB2.
- Strong networking knowledge.
