Senior Backend Engineer
What You ll Do:
- Design, build, and optimize backend systems that power real-time and batch video rendering pipelines.
- Lead API development (GraphQL and REST) and integrate with tools like OpenAI, stock footage providers, and CRM platforms.
- Develop features for a new paid API product enabling large-scale CRM integration.
- Tackle AI-enhanced video editing workflows and drive quality improvements.
- Architect backend services with performance and scalability in mind.
- Manage infrastructure operations in an environment without a dedicated infrastructure team strong debugging skills are essential.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end, AI/ML, and product teams.
Tech Stack:
- Languages: Go (preferred) and Python, or Node.js and TypeScript.
- Databases: PostgreSQL (strong SQL proficiency required).
- Infrastructure/Cloud: AWS (Lambda, ECS, Step Functions), Terraform.
- API Development: GraphQL & REST.
What We re Looking For:
Must-Haves:
- Degree from a top ranked CS program
- 5 10 years of professional backend engineering experience.
- Proven experience with Go (or a strong willingness to quickly upskill).
- Expertise in SQL/PostgreSQL, API development, and system design.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage long-term projects.
- Experience working in startup or early-stage environments.
- Strong debugging skills with a proactive approach to tackling infrastructure tasks.
