Overview:
The Director of Operations and Production Manager oversees the timely execution of the production schedule while maintaining strict quality assurance standards. This role leads a Quality Manager and a small team of 2–3 production assembly staff, coordinating workflow to meet operational goals. The position includes training responsibilities, performance feedback to the President, and ensuring compliance with safety and FDA regulations. The individual in this role fosters continuous improvement and is capable of performing all assembly-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the production assembly team and manage workflow to ensure deadlines and quality benchmarks are met.
- Align local production processes with those established at the parent facility in Germany.
- Identify and resolve performance issues within the production area through effective problem-solving.
- Collaborate with the President to prioritize tasks and manage departmental objectives.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure products meet established standards.
- Coordinate training efforts with international or internal departments to uphold quality and safety protocols.
- Actively contribute to assembly operations and provide support when needed.
- Distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety procedures and policies.
- Communicate any issues related to quality, processes, equipment, materials, or staffing to the President.
- Work closely with departments such as Shipping & Receiving, engineering teams abroad, and external partners (e.g., packaging and sterilization vendors) to address concerns and provide solutions.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and maintain accuracy to meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Notify leadership of staffing shortages and provide input on team member performance.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and training sessions on work procedures, safety, quality, and performance expectations.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and development plans for direct reports, sharing feedback with the President.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and communicate regularly with international colleagues.
- Adhere to documented quality assurance and regulatory procedures in line with applicable standards.
