Java Technical Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Technical Lead to join our team in McLean, VA. This role requires a hands-on technologist with a strong background in Core Java, Angular, AWS, and Microservices. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for building scalable, high-performance applications and the ability to guide teams through the full development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver end-to-end technical solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Build, design, and implement complex applications using Java (8+), Spring Boot, and Microservices
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Develop rich, responsive user interfaces using Angular, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and other modern front-end technologies
• Utilize AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch for cloud-native development and deployment
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement timely fixes
• Stay current with emerging technologies and perform proof-of-concept (POC) development

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems, or a related field
• 10+ years of hands-on development experience with Core Java (Java 8 or higher)
• Proven experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture
• Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud services and deployment best practices
• Proficiency in Angular and front-end technologies (Node.js, HTML, CSS)
• Familiarity with Java design patterns and software engineering best practices
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Must be in or willing to relocate to McLean, VA and work onsite

Preferred qualifications:

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring junior developers
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
