Job Description:
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Controls Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems and supporting mechanical electricians. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of industrial automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000) and Siemens DCS systems
  • Support mechanical electricians with PLC-related issues
  • Track down inputs/outputs and diagnose faults in packaging equipment
  • Assist in implementing automation upgrades
  • Provide reactive (30-40%) and preventative maintenance support
  • Work with VFDs, motor compactors, and other high-voltage equipment (480V, 3-phase)
  • Understand and follow safety protocols for high-voltage systems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams (Plant and Process Engineers)
  • Support networking between multiple PLC platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000)
  • Experience with Siemens DCS systems is a plus
  • Background in packaging equipment, especially liquid packaging, is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with VFDs and drive systems
  • Mechatronics or automation training is a plus
  • Certifications and formal education in electrical or automation fields are beneficial
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and support the team
