Job Details

Title: Network Systems Engineer Full Time Employment with CLIENT

3 days a week onsite in Hawthorne, CA

Essential Functions:
Serve as the primary engineering expert for network (LAN/WAN), voice, and data infrastructure.
Configure, maintain, and optimize the Credit Union's:
o LAN/WAN hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, voice gateways, VPNs, and third-party network devices.
o Mitel VoIP PBX and Contact Center Telephony System.
Design, implement, and manage IP addressing schemes.
Research, recommend, and implement industry best practices for network systems.
Provide training and support to credit union staff on LAN/WAN access and functionality.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and document LAN/WAN connectivity and performance issues.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Disaster Recovery Plan for network infrastructure.
Enhance system performance through automation and integration of third-party software solutions.
Install, test, and maintain network hardware, management tools, software updates, and new modules.
Conduct scheduled security reviews and ensure compliance with the organization's Information Security Program.
Manage third-party vendor relationships, coordinate issue resolution, and report deficiencies to the Director of Technology.
Provide support for related IT areas, including servers, storage, data protection, cloud backup, email, and unified communications.
Perform routine system maintenance, including configuration changes, documentation, and procedural updates.
Take ownership of special projects assigned by management, ensuring timely and effective completion.
Independently diagnose and resolve network and PC-related equipment issues.
Participate in on-call rotations, maintaining availability via mobile communication during off-hours to respond to IT emergencies and minimize system downtime.
Proactively research and follow up on all reported member and staff technical issues.
Develop, update, and maintain department policies, procedures, and organizational email systems.
Provide technical guidance and operational assistance to the Credit Union staff.
Prepare implementation plans for network-based products.
Proactively facilitate improvement of network/PC functions throughout the credit union.
Input, update, and close tickets using the service request ticketing system.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge with new network technology and security.
Follow and exemplify the organization's core values.
Work closely with the Systems Administrator to satisfy IT support needs and expectations as required by the credit union.
Understand and follow credit union policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), NCUA Part 748, App A & B, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) within area of responsibility.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN network systems.
Minimum of five years of experience working with personal computers, including hardware and software such as Windows Server.
Hands-on experience with Mitel telephone and data communication systems.
Preferred experience with Juniper and Palo Alto network technologies.
Experience with Symitar or other financial systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, think critically, and develop effective solutions.
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and cross-functionally with other departments in a collaborative environment.
